RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain caseload of shelter and non-shelter counseling cases, providing individual, group, family, and parenting counseling.
• Provide in-person advocacy and case management services to child clients.
• Supervise weekly structural activities and special events for children and families.
• Mentor Program coordination, involvement in: recruitment, mentor training, mentor supervision monitoring attendance, site visits.
• Work collaboratively with Children’s Program staff to create a welcoming and friendly environment for clients in counseling rooms and shelters
• Monitor the condition of counseling rooms, Children’s Program files, donations, and supplies.
• Prepare case notes, program reports and statistical reports as needed.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Task supervision to interns and volunteers
• Any tasks as assigned by Executive Director

QUALIFICATION:

• Must be flexible with schedule, some evening and weekend hours required
• Graduated from or currently enrolled in a master degree program in Psychology, Social Work, Art Therapy or related field highly preferred or bachelor degree in above fields with at least one year direct work with children.
• Counseling experience, working with children and/or women in areas of: violence against women; child abuse; Asian community
• Bi-lingual in an South Asian language, preferably in Bengali
• Ability to work well with others
• Ability to be self-directed, highly motivated
