The Asian American Community Fund: A Vehicle towards Community Services

The Federation announces the release of its 2008 Asian American Community Fund (Community Fund) grant application.  Through the Community Fund, the Federation partners with its member agencies to strengthen service programs to Asian Americans.  The Community Fund enables community agencies to build a strong service delivery infrastructure, and to sustain services that are critical to meeting community needs.  In 2007, the Community Fund supported 21 agency initiatives, including an acupuncture therapy program for Chinese seniors, an after school program for Korean American children of domestic violence victims, a parenting skills and empowerment program for South Asian families, while helping an HIV/AIDS organization to enhance its primary care clinic capacity, a Japanese social service agency to enhance its fundraising capacity, and a settlement house to develop a 3-year organizational strategic plan.
