The Federation Distributes Almost $25,000 from New York City Combined Federal Campaigns to Member Agencies

The Combined Federal Campaign is the only authorized charitable fundraising drive in the federal workplace, soliciting contributions on behalf of private voluntary organizations. Public sector employees demonstrate their commitment and community support by contributing over thousands of dollars to their workplace campaigns. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.

This year, funds collected for the Asian American Federation from July 2012 – June 2013 from CUNY’s Campaign for Voluntary Charitable Giving (City University of New York); Combined Municipal Campaign (New York City employees) and State Employee Federated Appeal totaled almost $25,000! Distribution is based on the total of designated gifts made to specific member agencies plus the equal share of undesignated portions, minus administrative costs for the United Way of New York City, who manages these annual public sector campaigns.

The Asian American Federation has consistently been organizing and submitting applications on behalf of its member agencies on an annual basis, and is proud to provide its member agencies an additional funding stream every year.
