Commemorating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month



The Asian American Federation commemorated this special month through a series of educational and cultural events with its corporate and community partners in addition to hosting its annual Spirit of Asian America Gala. Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is an occasion to celebrate the contributions of Asian Americans to the great diverse nation it is today. It is also an occasion for Asian Americans to reflect on where we are as a community and the challenges we still face.

Many Asian American communities continue to struggle to overcome disparities in education, employment, housing, and health care, and Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month significantly helps to spotlight these issues. For the Federation, the month of May is an important part of our program year to further our mission to advance the civic voice and well-being of all Asian Americans.
