Connecting to Resources

In 2011, the Federation successfully brought together 4 member agencies and 5 local funders to initiate a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant, Project Speak Out. A joint program of the New York Asian Women's Center with Garden of Hope, Korean American Family Service Center, and Sakhi for South Asian Women, this initiative is the first large scale pan-Asian domestic violence prevention campaign in New York City. This collaboration of both local funders and member agencies was able to reach the $150,000 goal to recieve the $200,000 matching grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

In 2010, the Federation's annual Community Fund provided over $27,000 in grant support to member agencies providing services to victims of domestic violence and to help sustain a project that aims to increase collaboration between the domestic violence and child welfare fields through staff training and consultation at partnering child welfare agencies.
