Data Tables from American FactFinder

The following links tap directly into the Census Bureau's American FactFinder system and represent the most commonly requested data tables from the decennial Census and the on-going American Community Survey (ACS). Please check back here as new data is rolled out throughout the year.


*NEW* 2006-2010 American Community Survey Socioeconomic Data

The five-year 2006-2010 ACS Selected Population Tables have replaced the 2000 Census Summary File 4 tables (see below) as the most detailed source of data on Asian ethnic groups in New York City. The table below include data (in order presented in the tables):

Asian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Cambodian, Chinese, Chinese (except Taiwanese), Taiwanese, Filipino, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Thai, Vietnamese, Burmese, and Nepalese.

These are large tables, so be sure to navigate left and right to find the ethnic groups you are interested in.

The first set of tables includes only individuals who self-identify only as Asian and as one Asian ethnic group:

The second set of tables includes all individuals who identified themselves in whole or in part as Asian and one or more of the Asian ethnic groups:

These tables include data, where available for Asians as a whole, Bangladeshis, Cambodians, Chinese, Filipinos, Hmong, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Malaysian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Taiwanese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Other specified Asian groups, via a pull-down menu.
